ESL Class
The ESL program was set up to help those in our community who wanted to learn basic English. This class helps those who have lived here for a while and would like to strengthen their English listening, speaking and writing skills. The goal of ESL class is to improve the students’ English skills so that they may better settle into the Canadian community.
In order to improve students’ speaking, listening, grammar, and writing skills, we use “Ventures” and “Side-by-Side” courses; divided into 5 levels including basic classes and classes 1, 2, 3, and 4. Emergency / Disaster Relief
Emergency Disaster Service is a social service provided by the Salvation Army. After receiving at least three emergency rescue training sessions (Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Service) and receiving certificates of completion, the person can then participate in Emergency Disaster Services. Salvation Army New Life Christian Church participated in the 2014 Vancouver City Hall Earthquake Disaster Prevention Display, assisted in the humanitarian relief of the Burnaby apartment fire in January 2017, and provided food services during the BC inland wild fires of July 2017.
